Is a Windigo a Bigfoot?

Windigo legends have been around for a long time but many people debate whether it's the bipedal creature known as sasquatch or a cannibalistic monster. The correct spelling of the creature is even debated on and ranges from: windigo, weendigo, and windago. What is this creature?

Windigo Revolution (trailer)

Above is a link to Barber Motion Pictures' short film trailer Windigo Revolution (2015). The Wendigo title is based on the belief that various myths such as the legend of the Wendigo could be attributed to early Sasquatch sightings. This notion is even considered in Dr. Jeff Meldrum’s book Sasquatch Legend Meets Science. So what do you think? Could the wendigo legends derive from sasquatch?
